Takes up entire left side of engine bay, makes hard contact with intake piping, power steering lines and brake booster, battery posts barely miss the hood. Will cause issues from contact if I leave it installed much longer. Only way to get regain clearance is a sawsall or just remove the sb garbage and go back to 6637 filter. Gained 300-450° egt at idle immediatly after pulling into a parking lot in the hour it took to install. Smokes like a freight train anytime I'm under 2,000 RPM now as well. Also at 3,000 RPM running down the interstate it easily hits 1250° have not towed heavy since I installed. Was starting to plug by the 4th week and is badly plugged by the 6th week and getting filter replaced as soon as I find a part number since I don't have time to remove the whole thing tonight.

Replaced a riffraff/Donaldson blue 6637 that had plenty of clearance under the hood, dropped to 200° egt as soon as I left off throttle when empty, could barely reach 1,100° egt at 32,000# at 80+° outside temperature and barely could see a hint of smoke at around 1,500 RPM when I needed to downshift anyway. I typically got 3 months out of the Donaldson blue/ riffraff filter and could get a replacement anywhere and will be going back to it as soon as I get time to remove the SB garbage.

I work on class 8 6x6 terex chassis trucks and don't have time or the patience to deal with garbage that looks fancy but doesn't work properly and causes extra work.

I have an early 99. It had the cheapest intake one could find on it when I bought it. This intake is superb!
The cooler temps really gives me peace of mind. Just a great setup with great instructions. Also great customer service!

Makes a huge difference in the way the truck runs and sounds. More power for sure. Threw out the 6637 setup.

Went a cheaper route (6637) but was dealing with smoke and poor performance, while it didn’t clear up all the smoke it helped a ton. Tows much better and fit great. Great video series and the proof is in the dunk.
