Description:
The KC Jetfire Stage 1 61mm turbo works great on stock injectors, it is specifically designed for guys looking to push stock injectors to the max without the extra lag of bigger turbos. This turbo is meant for the guys who tow heavy, want quick spool, more power, but don't want the extra lag associated with other larger stage 1.5/pmax/S2 turbos.
**We recommend 50 state legal SCT tuning to go with your turbo**
**Polished covers can take a 1-2 week lead time**
NOTE: These turbos are based off of the 2004-2007 turbo mounting style, to run this on a 2003 pedestal we will have to cut off the 3rd mounting bracket on the back of the turbo.
EXHAUST BRAKES: We get asked a lot about exhaust brakes and if they work with our turbos, these will retain the OEM feature if the vehicles calibration allows and is setup for it. We have found that some brands have clearance issues and might cause the brake to hinder performance, rub the turbine wheel, or cause other issues. These brakes typically use some sort of flapper to close which causes extreme exhaust back pressure to aide in braking. This can be hard on a turbo and motor and is not recommended.

Awesome product really woke my truck up
Pleased to have found KC Turbo as I am new to diesel. The truck is a 2006 F250 that has seen plenty of oil getting into the turbo intercooler system. The videos and dialogue about the different wheels available for the jet fire stage 1 made it easy for me to decide on the 11 blade… it did more than I thought it could to reduce turbo lag and improve drive-ability. There is much more power through out the rev range (boost spools up sooner and hits 28 psi on WOT) and to top it off I was able to get 19 mpg on a 150 mile trip doing 75mph. It still has a bit of turbo spool sound albeit much higher pitched than the worn out Garrett. Super happy with this! Thanks KC Turbo.
We strictly use KC for all our 7.3 and most of our 6.0 Powerstroke trucks and they deliver a fantastic product every time!
The vanes were starting to stick once in a while on my stock turbo with wicked wheel. I decided to purchase his KC Jetfire stage 1 turbo after reading all the good reviews about it. I installed the jetfire turbo. Took it for a test drive in the same tune. (SCT street tune). Right off the bat I had more turbo lag from a stop and low RPM. EGT's were also getting a lot hotter. Cruising speed 55-65 mph boost was only 2-4 psi and EGT,s would climb to 1200+ degrees. WOT boost was around 32psi. I am not happy with the performance of this jetfire turbo. I tried different tunes and none of the tunes made a difference. I called to try to return it. They said I must have other problems with my vehicle. Kc sent me an email with a check list to go through. After spending a day chasing ghosts. I found nothing wrong with my vehicle. I decided to clean the vanes and unison ring on my stock OEM turbo with wicked wheel. I reinstalled my original turbo. Now my vehicle runs great again. Less turbo lag than the jetfire turbo. OEM Turbo spools quicker also. Same Cruising speed 55-65 mph boost 4-7psi and EGT,s are at 800-950 degrees average. Never went above 1100 degrees. The jetfire turbo might work well for some people. But it didn't work well on my 04 excursion. Now I have a 1700$ paper weight (jetfire turbo) I can't do anything with.
So far so, so good. I have a 5” exhaust with an aftermarket muffler with no tune so the whistle isn’t as loud as I thought it’d be but I also have a stage 1 10 blade in my other 6.0 with a custom performance tune and 5” straight pipe and the whistle screams. That being said, as soon as I delete the muffler and put a tune in it, I’m sure the 9 blade will sound much louder than the 10 blade.
