Description:
The KC Jetfire Stage 1 61mm turbo works great on stock injectors, it is specifically designed for guys looking to push stock injectors to the max without the extra lag of bigger turbos. This turbo is meant for the guys who tow heavy, want quick spool, more power, but don't want the extra lag associated with other larger stage 1.5/pmax/S2 turbos.
**We recommend 50 state legal SCT tuning to go with your turbo**
**Polished covers can take a 1-2 week lead time**
NOTE: These turbos are based off of the 2004-2007 turbo mounting style, to run this on a 2003 pedestal we will have to cut off the 3rd mounting bracket on the back of the turbo.
EXHAUST BRAKES: We get asked a lot about exhaust brakes and if they work with our turbos, these will retain the OEM feature if the vehicles calibration allows and is setup for it. We have found that some brands have clearance issues and might cause the brake to hinder performance, rub the turbine wheel, or cause other issues. These brakes typically use some sort of flapper to close which causes extreme exhaust back pressure to aide in braking. This can be hard on a turbo and motor and is not recommended.

Due to the fires of Southern California, my package was a bit delayed but boy was it worth the wait, pre oiled and and that beautiful polished Inlet just makes me want to hang on a shake instead of installing lol but definitely worth the wait and worth the money! Not that it’s a big deal but that even included like 5 sick stickers with the packaging, and everything was very well packaged
15 days for delivery! Ordered on a Thursday morning. Late Friday, I get a message I have to verify the order is legit by giving a code from my bank statement. Shipping label is not printed out until Monday. Thanks for the initial delay. I have no idea on how much time it was between the label and the actual picking up by UPS. The package apparently was put on the slow boat from Arizona as total wait time for the arrival was 15 days. Far from the 7 days that was indicated when I called them informing them of my location.
During installation, I discovered the housing was never drilled and tapped for the VGT wiring harness clip. A clip and new screw is provided in the parts and I would also have been willing to reuse my previous clip. The housing has a cast area for the provision of the clip yet it wasn't drilled and tapped. Why would KC provide a clip and screw in the parts if for some reason they designed it not to have this feature, or better yet why did they not drill and tap to properly install the wiring harness and protected from the heat and vibration?
The jury is still out as to the performance of the turbo, but at this point I am bewildered on why KC has such a great reputation and shipping as well as the missing harness mount may keep me from ever recommending or ordering another turbo from them. It will also be interesting to see if they even post this review because if they don't they will definitely lose my business.
This turbo is amazing daily driving you barley got to put your foot down and your already going, amazing top end a big laggy in the 750-1800 rpm range but kicks in decently quick for a 9 blade im sure the 10 or 11 are even better
i purchased the KC stage one jetfire (11 blade) with the intent of giving my 2005 f350 cab & chassis truck some much needed love and attention. Upon install and tune, the turbo at first did not perform as i had hoped... Almost like the vanes were being held at 45% and would not move from there unless under heavy load then they would open. The team at KC (Alex) were super insightful and very eager to help with my issue even though at the end of the day, the issue at hand had nothing to do with the turbo or associated sensors (EBP,MAP,BARO)
with the issue resolved, the charger performs better than i ever expected! instant spool up, clean running, zero smoke, and not a overbearing whistle. Truck drives amazing now and that is mostly thanks to the team at KC.
10/10 will buy from these guys again
