Description:
This complete turbo and install kit will give you the ability to upgrade your 2011-2014 6.7 Powerstroke to the 2017+ style turbo. The 2017+ style journal bearing turbo is known for its robust reliability and noted for overcoming most of the shortcomings of the stock 2011-2014 ball bearing turbo. Until now, the only way to update your 6.7 Powerstroke to the newer style turbo, was an overly complicated "retrofit kit" from Ford Racing. We have designed the KC Warlock turbo to retrofit onto your engine in a fraction of the time and with much less modification than the Ford Racing Retrofit kit.
Three turbo options are available in this kit. Stages 1 & 2 KC Whistler turbo for moderate towing and street performance, Garrett F250/350 turbo for those who prefer to keep things stock.
EXHAUST BRAKES: We get asked a lot about exhaust brakes and if they work with our turbos, these will retain the OEM feature if the vehicles calibration allows and is setup for it. We have found that some brands have clearance issues and might cause the brake to hinder performance, rub the turbine wheel, or cause other issues. These brakes typically use some sort of flapper to close which causes extreme exhaust back pressure to aide in braking. This can be hard on a turbo and motor and is not recommended.

This installation was with the Garrett turbo option, so basically all OEM parts. As noted in other reviews I believe KCTurbo should include the exhaust side clamps as re-used clamps are know to fail - happened to me. My biggest complaint is that AMPD tuning was recommended by KCTurbo, but it's difficult to find US dealers and AMPD doesn't support end-users directly. I'm guessing that without the proper tuning I'm not seeing the improved performance that was promised.
Side note: installing these kits is not easy - I recommend finding a reliable shop unless you have considerable mechanical experience.
