Fuel Pressure Is Critical !
Fueling on the 7.3 — The Next Critical System to Address
In our last email, we talked about the importance of proper oil pressure, but another often-overlooked system that plays a huge role in performance and reliability is the fuel system. From the tank all the way to the cylinder heads, every component plays a critical part — especially when upgrading injectors. One of our favorite solutions for fueling on our (L99)+ builds is the AirDog 5G Fuel System. It’s a complete package that includes everything needed for installation, and it's simple enough for most DIYers to handle with basic tools. It's efficient, reliable, and helps ensure your injectors get the fuel they need when they need it.
It's important to understand that many 7.3 owners would never know their fuel pressure isn't holding — unless they’ve tested it with a mechanical gauge. The truck may seem to run and drive fine, but under load (like towing a trailer uphill), fuel pressure can drop dramatically. This drop can starve your brand-new injectors, reducing performance and potentially causing damage.
Bottom line: If you're upgrading injectors on your 7.3, checking and upgrading the fuel system is not optional — it's essential. Let’s protect those expensive parts and make sure your build performs like it should.
