I've had my 6.0 VGT turbo apart before but this time I found it passing more oil than I was comfortable with. I ordered the KC Turbo 360 rebuild kit for my early '04 turbo and it came with everything I needed to rebuild. Find the YouTube video on full disassembly and reassembly if you're new to this. The kit does not include instructions but YouTube University worked great. I put everything back together, took a little extra time to polish the cold side and it runs great! If I keep this truck, I may one day step up to a Stage 1 unit and a tune but for my studded stocker, I'm happy!
Everything that was expected.
I rebuilt my aftermarket 64 mm turbo on my Duramax with this kit. It's a great kit, but if you're doing a turbo that's already upgraded, be aware that the 2 silver washers in the kit probably won't fit. The aftermarket units use a different design.
