Heim Joint Mod – Clutch Rod Fix for ZF 5-Speed (1987–2010 Ford)
Fix your clutch once and for all.
The Heim Joint Mod is the ultimate solution for 1987 & up Ford trucks equipped with the ZF 5-speed manual transmission. This upgrade replaces the failure-prone plastic "Mickey Mouse" bushing found in the clutch master cylinder pushrod — a common source of poor clutch feel, grinding gears, and excessive pedal play.
Over time, the factory plastic bushing wears out or cracks, creating a loose connection between the pushrod and the clutch pedal swing arm. In severe cases, the worn pushrod can even damage the swing arm pin itself.
Our mod eliminates this issue permanently by replacing the factory pushrod eye and swing arm pin with a high-strength heim (rod end) joint and cap screw. The result? A rock-solid connection that won't wear out — improving clutch feel and reliability instantly.
