Why didn't we test every injector size for the new 7.3 turbos?

Will you have any data for a 160/0 or 160/30? The 205 makes a good“ control” injector for testing, and I think there are several who run 160s and it would interesting to see how this new turbo works on those injector sizes as well. this new turbo definitely changes the game for the 7.3. Thank you for continually working for improvement.

We have testers of basically every size injector and basically every drop in turbo option you can think of and the data becomes a little redundant. Every tester said the same thing. Runs amazing, way outperforms anything else they have ever ran, cooler egts, more boost, etc. But knowing the exact HP ratings of each setup just come down to injector size and tune. The more important part to understand is that the New KC gen 3 s1 will take advantage of every bit of fuel any injectors smaller than 205/30 can flow. So you will just be at the limit of how much fuel you can dump and how hot of a tune you run?

But breaking down whether you run a 205/30 vs 180/30 vs 160/30 vs 180/0 vs 160/0 vs stock and whether you run a 5.6ms vs 4.2ms vs 3.6ms vs 3.2ms tune with stage 1 vs 2 vs 3 turbos? And then break down big hp discrepancies based off how much ICP you hold. The difference between 2800 and 3200psi is actually pretty big.

We have done similar testing and when using a turbo that maxes out all the fuel you have... then you are just at the upper limits of what the injectors can flow? As long as you run a full fuel tune.
Also some sizing is basically the same thing depending on who you ask and who you order through. You are made to feel like there are more options but 160/0 and 180/0 are the same thing. 160/30 and 180/30 are also the same thing. 160/80 and 180/80 are the same thing. I am saying literally if you order
160/30 or 180/30 you will get the same injectors (box will just say stage 1.5s)

General HP limits, knowing you will be at the upper limits of these numbers assuming you run a hot tune
(4.2-5.6ms) holding 3200icp, and running a turbo that maxes out these injector sizes. Many injector builders have removed this info... and many dynos read different. But this might help

Stage 1 - (160/0 and 180/0) - 330-380hp
Stage 1.5 - ( 160/30 and 180/30) - 380-450hp
Stage 2s - Just don't run these please!!! I hate this size
Stage 3s - 205/30 hybrids - 450-500hp
Stage 3s - 238/80 hybrids - 500-550hp

So breaking this down even further... depending on how well you hold ICP can change how the power comes on and how well you hold peak power. For example check out this graph AND the video below showing 180/30 vs 205/30 hybrids. The 180/30s actually perform REALLY good down low, spool faster, crisper throttle, more tq, etc when it holds max ICP. But as soon as the 180/30s drop ICP the 205/30s take over and make more power to redline. I am not exactly sure if its possible to dump 205cc through a 30% nozzle in only 4.2 to 5.6ms. I think a lot of the gains in the 205/30s come from holding higher ICP which atomizes the fuel better and actually dumps more fuel faster.
