How big of a difference is there between 238/80 and 238/100?
Well we tested it for fun on the dyno. Both on the same truck, tune, mods, etc. Running the new KC s2 gen 3 making over 50psi of boost. You would never be able to tell the difference between the two trucks besides the smoke output difference. This should apply to all injectors as well for example 205cc/30% versus 205cc/80% or the infamous stage 2 180cc/100%
Only thing we changed was the injectors.
238cc/80%came on a little sooner @547
238cc/100% made a little more power @558
Running these setups in a lower tune kept them very clean but pushing them to the limit on the dyno they did smoke and EGTs are extremely manageable. This is exactly why we personally say less is more for the average customer that works and daily drives a 7.3.
Each tuner, company and person has personal favorite setups they choose to push so you will always get different opinions but keeping a smaller nozzle will only benefit almost situation for a practical purpose. Unless you were a dedicated race truck looking for the maximum HP.
